Betrayal

Jack Lexington

--

In shadows cast by deceit’s vile hand,

Where trust was shattered, like grains of sand,

Lies a heart wounded, in sorrow’s grip,

Betrayed by a bond, once cherished, now stripped.

The sting of betrayal, a sharpened blade,

Leaves scars that linger, where trust once laid,

Tears fall like rain, a tempest of pain,

In the aftermath of truth’s bitter disdain.

Betrayed by a confidant, once held dear,

A soul left vulnerable, raw and austere,

In disbelief, we question the why,

As echoes of deceit reverberate in the sky.

The walls we built, now breached and torn,

Betrayed hearts bleed, fragile and worn,

A loss so profound, it cuts to the core,

Leaving us stranded, adrift on love’s shore.

Yet, in the ache of betrayal’s cruel plight,

A silver lining emerges, casting its light,

For in the crucible of pain’s fierce embrace,

We discover strength, our spirit’s true grace.

We learn to discern between traitor and friend,
