Contemplation

Jack Lexington

--

As I stare up at the sky,

And watch the birds flying high.

Inside my mind, I hear you cry.

But it is not for me to question why.

As I wonder if I should?

I start to question if I could?

Take off the mask and lower the hood.

Would all this bad return to good?

It is not for me to understand.

I stare at the sea from on this land.

Would Death have spared you at my command?

But silent and alone I sat and held your hand.

Thank you for taking the time to read my work! Your support and readership mean the world to me, and I truly appreciate it.
