One day, a travelling salesman arrived in Gulliboria. He carried a jar filled with invisible, magical beans. “Step right up, ladies and gentlemen!” he exclaimed. “These beans will grant you the power to fly!”
Naturally, the people of Gulliboria were overjoyed. They thought, “Finally, a shortcut to flying without all the hard work of growing wings!”
The salesman went on, “All you need to do is plant these beans in your backyard, water them every day, and watch as they magically sprout into a beanstalk that will take you straight to the sky!”
Excited murmurs filled the air, and people rushed to buy these remarkable beans. They eagerly planted them in their backyards, waiting for the miraculous beanstalks to grow.
But days turned into weeks, and weeks turned into months, and no beanstalks appeared. The people grew restless and started to doubt the salesman’s claims. They wondered if they had been tricked.
